IEEE-1394b-2002 PHYsical Layer Testing

QP has expanded its IEEE-1394-1995/a-2000 testing experience to include IEEE-1394b-2002. With special emphasis on the topology-dependant nature of 1394b bilingual PHYs, QP capitalizes on its QP-NT environments to provide controlled topology tests. The following 1394b test categories are covered:

Short Haul Copper Medium

  • Tx/Rx Electrical Parameters
  • Toning and Signal Detection
  • Jitter

Beta mode port operation

  • 8B10B coding/decoding
  • Scrambling
  • Running disparity

Connection management

  • Port Connection
  • Disconnection
  • Recognition
  • Standby/Restore
  • Loop Prevention
